After reading this, I think I know how to make it better:

1) Use a separate bowl to build your lather.

2) Soak bowl and brush in hot water.

3) Empty the contents and leave the brush MOIST but not wet.

4) Add a few drops of glycerin to the bowl.

5) Load the brush with soap, that is rub it on the soap until there is clear evidence that there is soap in the bristles.

6) Using a circular motion, rub the loaded brush to the bowl where the glycerin is for a minimum of 5 minutes.

10) If the lather is to thin repeat from step 5. If the lather is too thick, add a drop of water and repeat from step 7.

I would be surprised if you get thin lather again ;-)
