Default Anyone tried this stuff? -- Basin White Shave Cream --

    Hey Everyone,

My GF and I recently went on vacation for a week to Disneyworld (Florida) and stopped by this basin white place where my GF picked up some soap / scrub stuff. I saw a tub of shave cream and figured I'd pick some up. It's an awesome Lemon/Lime scented but I have no idea how to use it. I tried making a lather with about a nickel sized dollop of it but no lather?!? I'm confused... I'm hoping someone has tried this stuff and can point me in the right direction. I've wet my face and rubbed some of the cream on and it feels slippery but there's no lather. I wonder if I'm supposed to add some pure glycerin to it to make it turn into a lather?

    anyhow thanks for the help!

No company makes a cream where you are "supposed" to add pure glycerin. That's an aftermarket thing thought up by wetshavers to squeeze lather out of inferior products. Chances are good that this is a non-lathering, brushless cream like KMF. Does the package say anything about using a brush? If not, then it's not supposed to lather.

That doesn't make it a bad product, just not a lathering one--depends on what you like.

Thanks Jim for that info, I never would have thought there was non-lathering shaving creams. I did a bit of research online afterwards and true enough there's quite a few non-lathering shave products. Who would have thought.

You are correct tho this Basin White shave cream is non lathering. I guess that's good to know and another product we have some information about. I guess I'll post a review once I give the stuff a real try on my face.

    Thanks for the help Jim,

You're more than welcome...It's not a topic that comes up a lot. I guess because, well, people prefer lather. Let us know how it works!
