Thanked: 735I'll have to throw my hat in the ring, and side with Obie on this one. You have the aforementioned soaps, but there's also the fine blades coming out of Sheffield that really tip the scales in England's balance!
Rule Brittania, Brittania rules the blades....
Britons, never will go unshaved....
Or some such...

The point is that while they made top notch steel, I know that when I think about high quality straight razors, several countries come to mind before England. In fact Sheffeild steel wasn't even widely adopted in England until the French used it extensively with good success. I didn't intend to intimate that the English didn't make good razors, I was just saying that other countries did a better job IMO. I will say that I think that Europeans are/have been the masters of the shave though.

Thanked: 326Has anyone tried Yardley of London? How is it when it comes to lather? As for scent does it linger for some time or simply dissipate?
Thanks,
Ivan
