Thanked: 5International postage :(
Hi Guys,
After reading today about all the diffgerent soaps you lads recomend i decided to check out Mama bears site. I was like a kid in a sweet shop! Snooped around for about an hour chucking stuff in my basket. Huge selection and great prices, until i went to pay that is!
This is no reflection on Mama bears themselves, just the American postal service. I often hear you guys saying that it is still financially viable to order stuff from the UK and still save cash. i myself have sent items across the pond and it has cost me very little. Why is it so diferent coming the other way? The robbing sods wanted more for the postage than the items were worth. I was half expecting them to demand to soul of my first born in exchange for putting a packet on a plane.
Anyway, rant over! im just so gutted that i wont get to sample any of these wonderful soaps!
I went in with a bad case of SAD and left...well just sad!

Thanked: 1241st class international mail is pretty cheap. For some reason alot of places here don't offer first class, though. I have no idea why.

1st class int'l has weight limitations - 64 ounces I believe. A bunch of soap may exceed it Even then you will be paying at least 50 cents per ounce at 1st class int'l rates so once you start loading up on heavier goodies it will cost you.
Mama Bear's website states:
Shipping: We ship via USPS Priority Mail 2-3 day delivery within the United States and First Class International Mail for all orders outside of the US.Last edited by hoglahoo; 03-10-2009 at 08:54 PM.

I agree U.S. postal priority international rates are high. I've been selling off my vinyl record collection piecemeal on Ebay (to fund my razor hobby of course!). I can't ship the albums in flat rate boxes and I insist on the priority shipping so I have tracking and insurance (first class international doesn't have tracking and/or its equivalent for what I ship basically adds up to the same price.
Approx $35 shipping internationally for what I've been selling. Very high.
