Default Sandalwood SOAP: How does TGQ compare to others?

    Hello

When I look at my then, I feel something is missing: A Sandalwood soap.

I already got a sampler from Colleen, but I did not ask for sandalwood (dumb me). In my top actual soaps are TGQ Desert Ironwood and Provence Lavender, so I already know the quality of these soaps, and I know the sandalwood soap is EO only so my skin should like it too, so my question is more about the scent.

How is the scent of that soap? I like the scent of TOBS cream and C&E balm, but I don't really want to try a lot of different brands when I know my skin is sensitive.

Just a thought but I swear by my AOS Sandlewood soap. Tallow goodness with a strong sandlewood scent and a puck that last forever.

Amazon is running a special on AOS sandalwood right now $22 for the stuff in the bowl!

EDIT: Apparently they sold out. Not surprising

I don't think it's EO only. Apart from that it's quite nice sandalwood. I didn't care for the tobs sandalwood cream. I like the smoky/woodsy c&e sandalwood, colleen's is not like it.
I just ordered 2 more in the 3oz size few days ago, so I definitely like it.

I've read good things about AOS sandalwood, but it's pricey. The refill is over 20$.

I checked for C&E soap, but the local store doesn't have it anymore. I know QED is good, but I'm affraid my skin won't like it.

If you're just after a good sandalwood soap, I'd say the AOS is one to get - pricey though it is. DR Harris Marlboro is another, but the scent is combined with soapiness. If you're concerned with the scent, I would say go with teh TGQ or the QED. YMMV

The only two sandalwoods I have used are Classic Shaving and TGQ. No comparison at all. TGQ hands down!!

Scentwise the TGQ sandalwood is very close to real Mysore Sandalwood EO but given that its a FO, I am not sure if it will agree with everyone's skin. I have dry sensitive skin but I have been able to use it with no problems at all and the perfomance is top-notch, as is the case with Colleen's shave soaps.

I have Colleen's Sandalwood soap. The scent is really nice, I'd call it "organic" I guess. Really different from the version that TOBS puts out. Performance wise - works really well, as long as you lather on the face instead of in a bowl.
