Can anyone comment on how the SRD soaps perform under hard water conditions? I have great success with Mama Bear soaps and Proraso, but my water renders TGQ soaps and creams and TOBS cream unusable.

The water where I live is harder than a whore's heart. All our water comes from wells. I don't have a softener, but you still get mineral build up with one anyway. I've been using the blood orange SRD soap and it gives me great results. But I also use the TOBS cream with great results, so I'm not sure if hard water is the main factor with what your experiencing. They treat our water with sodium hypochlorite to kill bacteria (and make it taste bad), but I don't know if that would affect lathering. Is your water treated or anything else?

Oh sure it's treated; I'm on a municipal water supply and we only filter our drinking and bathing water. Chlorine mainly. I could clarify that TGQ soaps and creams lose lather almost instantly but TOBS cream (Shaving Shop) did lather, but after applying to the face, lost the lather fairly quickly. Mama Bears sticks around for a three pass shave and then some as does Proraso cream. I just wondered about hard water and SRD soaps since the soaps do sound so appealing. It's not going to break the bank, so I should just buy some and give it a try. Thanks for the input.

Chris, I have hard water too and also have trouble with some brands of soap disappearing by the time I can get to the other side of my face. I've never had a mama bear's soap do this, though, and I've tried over a dozen of her scents.

Anyway, I have SRD blood orange on the way.. Can't wait to try it out. I'll let you know how it works for me.
