Dove "Soap" discovery
For several weeks I have been using in the shower with a safety razor (only on no time for SR days) a Dove beauty bar which my wife was told by our dermatoligist to use. The current one is Dove "Exfoliating" :http://www.dove.com/your_skin/exfoliating_bar.asp
It has little specks of blue or green in it. Bottom line..... it really worked. I tried it with a straight (not in the shower, of course) and it works like a dream. Lots of lather and stays moist. For those with sensitive skin and tough whiskers wishing to experiment I highly recommend it.

We had a cookout at a friend's parents house. We were watching a little TV, and there was a guy getting shaved with a straight razor. I said, "There's a real shave for you." The father then explained he learned to shave with a straight.
He uses Mach-3's now, but uses plain Dove soap with his brush. He said it makes great lather and leaves you face feeling nice.

Thanked: 17Soap....
I use a facial moisturizer which was recommended to me by a Dermatologist for a facial skin issue, named "Cetaphil". Available at most drug store chains.
They also make a Cetaphil soap - which is hypoallergenic, and slick as all get-out! I have it, but haven't yet shaved with it, because I have about 12-15 other soaps/creams in the rotation now, but will try soon and report back!
Thanks!

Thanked: 79Monte,
Gave it a try the other day. It did indeed work great. I have also had good results with a bar of lavender & shea butter soap from Crabtree & Evelyn. Thanks for the heads up!
