Question Come on Now, Who On Earth Likes These Scents?

i bought a pack of soaps..
1 erasmic shaving stick<GONE> ... smells like borax laundry detergent
1 (virgilio valobra) crema da sapone... <GONE>- smells like detergent + rancid vanilla
1 QED Bay Rum <GONE>.... really unique, smells like a polish kielbasa/cigar/incense/cologne stand, if there was such a thing.

i get why the person who sold them to me didnt want them, they stink. flat out. stink.
and its not just me, ive shown them to everyone i know and most of them literally laughed at how bad they smell.
and its not like i indicated that they stink, i just said "hey, check out this new soap i got. "
thanks for helpin me get rid of these things

i cant believe someone out there is actually packaging this crap and selling it, its amazing!

First of all, priceless. Best laugh of the day. (Laundry detergent + rancid vanilla)

All I can say, is that scent is very subjective. Sandalwood, patchouli and bay rum are 3 VERY popular scents, but to me, sandalwood and patchouli smell like pot smoking hippies (no offense to pot smoking hippies, just not my thing) and bay rum smells like a nursing home. (again, no offense to octogenarions, but a 28 year old shouldn't smell like one)

Finally somebody who understands the pain a manufacturer has to go through.
Trust me, I have about 80 scents in my line and not all of them are my favorites.

Particularly one always makes me wonder.
It smells like the pad cart closet of the old gym in my home town.
    Its very popular though.

the cella is nice when it's lathered. you may have a stale batch - no preservatives in it so it can go bad if not protected.

Are you kidding me? I don't know about the QED, but Erasmic and Cella both have lovely scents. I think you might have gotten a bad batch. Or your nose is broken.

He didn't mention Cella. in his first post he said: crema da sapone... <GONE>(virgilio valobra)- smells like detergent + rancid vanilla

where the "(virgilio valobra)" is the name of the brand. I have no idea why he put in "crema da sapone" in the start where he put the other brand names. Seeing as crema da sapone just means something like "Creamy soap" or "Cream soap".

Cella is another brand alltogether afaik.

    pics to illustrate:

    First up is Valobora:

    Second pic is the Cella:

I don't know if they smell the same. But it certainly seems that it is two different brands. The fact that they both call it crema da sapone surely does not make them the same though. That would be the same as saying that Olivias is the same as TGQs which would also be the same as Mamma Bears ect.

It seems he just worded his post badly

I think the whole point, as with my personal opinion of patchouli, is that a scent can be "lovely" to one person, yet so awful to another that they can hardly imagine how anybody could stand it.
