    Default Valobra Almond Soft Soap

I recently purchased both the Valobra Shave Stick and Almond soft soap on a whim. The shave stick was OK but IMO, nothing spectacular. I was having somewhat of a problem getting a really rich and creamy lather but probably because I never used a stick before. It's coming along though. I had actually gotten two sticks and milled one into a puck and milled the one I used for a shave stick into one of the empty plastic push up dispensers I bought at Mama Bears.

Tried out the Almond soft soap this morning and boy was I preasantly surprised. strong but not overpowering scent of almond, give me a rich, thick and slick lather which was as good as if not better than my other high end soaps (DR Harris, MWF, TABAC, C&E Nomad) and creams (Body Shop, TOBS Mr. Taylor). Most importantly it gave me a great close shave and the lather stayed rich throughout the entire 3 passes and touchups.

It was a pleasure to work with and it definitely has a spot near the top of my rotation.

I agree, Valroba is a great soap. Give the stick time and you will be rewarded I promise.

If you find yourself liking these types of soap, another couple I might recommend is P.160 Duro, I believe it is the soft version, and also Cella, a great Tallow based soft soap that is very affordable.

    Enjoy

I found the Velobra Almond to lather just as well as any expensive brand I've used with all the lubrication and cushioning I needed. The scent is pleasant and relaxing. Outperforms it's price IMHO.

They also make a menthol version which adds a nice kick to the soap.

Yes. Yes indeed. Valobra (in both its forms--the stick is actually one of the best shave soaps on the market...give it some time) is great, as are all the other Italian soaps and creams I've tried.

    Yay!

The Valobra soft soap is a decent soap IMO, I use it once in a while, and the lather it produces is great, and the soap gives a very close shave, but for me it dries out my skin if used on consecutive days, where as my other soaps don't, so I wouldn't rank it above MWF and D.R Harris.

The shave stick is on my short list for my next soap purchase, as I've read very good things about it.

I cut up the shave stick into little slices, and stuck them in with the soft soap, so I now have a Valobra turbo mix. Works great!

Can you please post the ingredient list? I would like to compare it to Cella, which is one of my favorites, and making a case for itself as being *the* favorite, even when compared to MWF and Tabac.

    The Cella ingredients are:
    cocos nucifera (aka cacao butter)
    tallow
    stearic acid
    potassium hydroxide
    sodium hydroxide
    aqua
    potassium carbonate
    parfum (almond)

Bob, I'm not sure of the ingredients, hopefully someone will have kept their package, I didn't I do know that the shave stick contains tallow but the soft soap, both the almond and menthol, do not.
