Lushs' "Shave the Planet"
After searching for a Vegan shaving cream that would meet my anal-retentive standards, I finally tried LUSHs' Shave the Planet and I must say that I am thoroughly pleased. Not only did it leave my face feeling smooth, but I found it unnecessary to use any sort of moisturizer post-shave.
Here are a few of my observations:
After showering, my normal routine included a scuttle, a brush, and whatever soap/cream I was trying that moment; LUSHs shaving cream only required a wet face and a quarter size dab of cream.
The cream itself is thick and "pasty" with a fresh scent that isn't too overpowering. When applied to my beard, I personally did not find the product too oily or greasy - I dislike the heavy feeling of oily facial products - but more like a heavy lotion. Due to the thick consistency, the trimmed whiskers collected nicely on the razor's blade and were easily washed away into the basin. For the ATG pass, which in most cases leads to irratation, I found I could easily fine-tune whatever patches needed attention without problem; I attribute this to the cream's moisturizing properties.
In all, I would recommend LUSH to a friend or anyone who prefers to buy vegan friendly products. For those of you who enjoy the traditional approach to shaving, i.e., foaming soaps, brushes, mugs/scuttles, this product may not be for you.

My brother just got me their Prince shaving cream & the Ambrosia soothing shaving cream. Only tried the Prince so far.
I'm not sure it's well suited to a straight. It gave a comfortable shave, & left the skin feeling fantastic with no alum sting, but i had to be more careful as it didn't have the glide i'm used to. I tried with a Futur though & it was fantastic.

Thanked: 234I have a tub of this, really like it, but it rarely gets used any more. It is very good though. I will deffinately use this again now you've reminded me of the smell, maybe tomorrow! I wish they did a lather cream.

gregs656: I too wish it lathered as that one aspect seems to be a major attraction to soaps/creams. Nonetheless, I do find that I really enjoy this brand of cream, even though I feel like it is missing something.
ben.mid: The glide aspect is SUPER important to me as well. I wonder if there is something different in the Shave the Planet that the Prince does not have as the StP seem to glide very well for me. I'll have to try the Futur, thanks for the heads up!

Thanked: 234I think the 'something missing' might well be the lather, or at least something to do with the application - A brush is much more effective than your hands.
Also, StP has LOADS of oils in it, not in a bad way (for me anyway) but there is certainly plenty in there to prohibit the blade catching.
