Thread: Supplies in New Zealand

Hi team,

Does anyone have good info on Razors and good shaving supplies in New Zealand?

So far I've found a branch of Crabtree & Evelyn who have some good shave cream. Got any other leads?

Darn, thought I'd already posted in this one!

Basically, short of going around the few barbershops in each city, there's no one shaving place that'll help you much. The aforementioned barbershops will probably have a few creams and/or soaps, some brushes of varying quality, a mug or two, and if you're really lucky a razor and strop. Your best bet though is to go through the net - the SRP classifieds are great for razors, hones, etc. Amazon does a good selection of basic essentials, and there's always the other vendor sites like SRD. If you have friends in the US it's often cheaper for you to get stuff sent to them then have them mail it on in a bulk lot.

Oh, and where in NZ are you? I assume you're new to the country, since your profile location says CA.

Yeah, it's a bit stink you can't find the stuff in shops here, but that makes it better, IMHO, because you can buy stuff online you know is good, but also can wander through those wee barber shops and find the occasional goldmine. There's another member in Welly on this site, he might be able to give you some recommendations for good places to look - shavenkiwi is his username

I actually rate C&E very highly. much prefer their soaps to trumpers. Prefer the sandalwood scent of their soap too
