Shave Cream - is this true?
Found this at shaving review.com - is this info true?
The most commonly associated brand with shave cream is Colgate. The invention of shave cream revolutionized the way men shave. With the start of the Industrial Revolution, men were going off to work. They had less time in the morning, while at the same time they had to focus more on their appearance. The invention of shave cream allowed men the time to shave. Shave cream was fast, easy to use, and easy to clean up. Since Colgate invented the shave cream many years ago, others have joined this category.

I think they might be referring to canned/tube cream . . . easy to use, etc. As opposed to soap, brush, etc.

I am not old enough to know this for a fact but I seem to remember that Burma-Shave was the first or one of the first brushless creams in the market. Could this be true?

I think Mugso Real was around before Burma-Shave, but I'm not sure . . . so in America, I think that might be true.
Edit:
Ah, yes, perhaps.
According to Classicshaving . . .
Musgo Real was introduced around 1920.
Burma shave was brushless around 1925.

Just hit the Wikipedia here for a timeline on the aerosol can that shaving cream eventually came in and it wasn't until the '40s that the technology was developed. I guess the early stuff was the 'brushless' cream that came in tubes and jars.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
