Thanked: 735AOS Sandalwood
I went to the local Art of Shaving store on Sunday with my 4 year old son. He picked out some AOS Lavender (Hey! I was going to get that!
), for "when he get's bigger". I picked out the Sandalwood.
Had a shave with it this a.m.--another fine performing shave soap. Easy lather, not too thick (as if there were such a thing?), not too thin. Nice sharp, woody, sandalwood aroma. Another tallow soap keeper for the Seraphim shave den!

Holy crap Seraphim, I just picked up a puck of this on Saturday! This, the English Fern...it's like we're twins separated at birth!

Thanked: 190Nice experience with the little one. I avoid the AOS store and wonder if they will stay in business. The on-line dealers have them beat in almost every category. There are so many good shaving soaps on the market and sooner or later, my Col. Conk soap will run out in 2011. I am amazed this soap has been around for 150+ years, but now I know why, it lasts a long time and does a decent job.

My problem with AOS is the price. I find I can get soaps and creams much cheaper on line.

I absolutely love the AOS sandlewood soap. I got it 50% with the bowl on amazon way back when. The refills really aren't that expensive when you compare them to other high-end products. I love DR Harris cream shampoo but their prices are way up there and same with T&H. I think AOS quality is at least at that level. I recently got a TOBS sandlewood shave stick for travel (I love their avocado cream) but couldn't stand that sandlewood scent. The AOS sandlewood smells great and not too old man.
I give it three thumbs way up.
