Soaps: Hard or Soft?
Which do you guys like and why?
A hard soap, like Williams, is one that you can run water in the mug, drop the brush in, shower, dump water out of the mug and the soap isn't all soft and runny. A soap like Ray's at ClassicShaving gets very soft when you treat it like this.

I'm working on a tub of the Vulfix Sandalwood cream myself. Really nice lather. Makes it hard to think about soaps anymore. It is very luxurious!

Kyle,
I like both! The soft soaps I melt down into their own individual containers and am able to work up a wonderful lather. The hard soaps all seem to have that old "barbershop" aroma that I enjoy. I get good shaves with either on, and consider the variety a part of the experience.

Thanked: 4942I love my hard cake soaps. I still will use the creams, but the Taylors, Dr. Harris, Trumpers, TABAC, Joris and a few others gets that traditional or old barber shop feeling stirring in my bones......lol. Like the fragrances also. Lynn

Thanked: 4I gotta admit to trending towards the creams. Easier to get a good lather, and there are so many really good ones out there.

I use both, but mostly soft since I can melt them to fit into the sterling cup I use as a soap mug that sits out where all can see (you know who thought of that, don't you ). The hard soaps reside in "those ugly coffee mugs" that must be stored under outta sight under the sink.
