Thanked: 1D.R. Harris shaving stick
Okay, so I am going away on business for 5 days and I read somewhere that a shaving stick is perfect for travel, I ordered one from SRD, a D.R. Harris shaving stick, my question is.......how do I use it? I thought it would be more like a cream but it is stiff like soap. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Wet yer face, wet the stick (just a little), and soak the brush as usual.
take wet stick and rub all over wet face, then shake out brush and start face lathering. If you need to add more water, add a few drops of water to the breech of the knot(repeat this as needed), let is soak in a few seconds and continue to face lather.

What superbleu said. I also swirl the brush over the soap as well - just for good measure. The Harris stick is my standard for travel.

I 2nd (3rd?) what superbleu said. The only thing different I do is I just dip the tips in the mug I was soaking the brush in if I need to add more water....
The big thing with facelathering - it takes a while.... just keep going and going and going until you get the lather to where you want it. It'll seem like forever until you get there.... You may want to practice once or twice before you go. The main thing with new stick users/face latherers is that they just don't work the lather long enough. Although, sometimes they don't have enough soap on their face to begin with...
Sticks are my main stay, sometimes creams - all I do is face lather, no mugs or bowls for me...

You may want to try it before you go, too ( ha- like Truckman said- missed that the first time). Some people experience irritation from shave sticks. Probably nothing worse than being stuck with a red face and hunting some shaving cream while you're on a trip.
