Why are brush handles so short?
While I am new to straight razor shaving, I have been a brush user for 20+ years and have always enjoyed the process. One thing I have wonderd about but never really asked anyone is why don't more brushes have long handles on them. As an avid cook, it seems like having a baloon whisk that's 3" long; highly inefficient.
Yes I'm drunk.

Hi Korndog,
Shavemac sells a nice longer handled silver tip badger brush. It's highly recommended by Dr. Chris Moss who is also a member at the wetshavers' forum SMF. Here's the link: http://tinyurl.com/bp5gt
I have a Vulfix 377 I got from classicshaving.com that has a longer handle as well as a longer brush. This is one of my favorite brushes. It might also suit your culinary skills.

That looks like one hec of a fine brush, with the combined virtues of a longer handle and a 30mm knot! I hope you'll post a review.

Thanked: 2209When they say a "knot size of XX" what are they referring to?
The diameter of the knot or the circumference?Randolph Tuttle, a SRP Mentor for residents of Minnesota & western Wisconsin

Randy,
As I understand it, based on info I read in a thread on another forum, it's the diameter of the hair at the point it enters the handle.
