Gillette Shaving creams...
You don't hear much talk about the tubed Gillette shaving creams that are available in Europe, etc. Can anyone fill me in a little bit on how they work, where they are made, etc.? Just wondering if it's worth looking for over here in the States...
Thanks in advance,
EW

If you mean the canned goo.....
I tried the stuff with a mock 3 a few times several years ago.
[While an airline sent my razor and soap far, far away.]
If I were you I wouldn't waste my time on it.
You will get a lot better shave with any cheap soap.

I got a tube of Lemon-Lime Gillette cream this summer (think it was in Italy). It smells pretty good - sort of like icing - but it's the worst-performing cream of the 20 or so that I've tried. Makes my blade skip like crazy.

haha... our favorite store carries one of them ...if it's in stock..
Superlather.com carries the Gillette Regular (red)(Italy), Gillette Menthol (blue)(Italy), and the Gillette Sensitive (blue)(Italy)
ConnaughtShaving.com carries the Gillette Classic (red)(UK)
Those are the only ones I can think of off hand...

Many thanks so far for the replies! Yes, this is not the canned product you find on super market or drugstore shelves. They (someone under the Gillette name) makes "real" shaving cream in different versions.

As a follow-up, I just had a decent shave with my Gillette Lemon-Lime cream. Could be my hard water, but I found it needs *almost* too much hydration before it gets slick. Just before it got soupy, it worked fine. Won't be binning it after all.

Chemists and Supermarkets stock the canned goo/Foam from Noxema, Gillette, Old Spice, Burma Shave etc.., they also stock Williams shave soap or Colgate Shave soap, or VanDerhagen shave soap. There are few chemists in my area that stock specialty soaps from Crabtree and Evelyn. But if you want true special soap with out ordering it here then you have to go to specialty stores in malls. Bath and Body, The Body Shop, Excaliber Cutlery, Crabtree and Evelyn, Nordstrom.

Ah. So this tubed lube is different from the canned goo. Ok. Misunderstood and was thinking those cans.

Gillette I think was sold, name and formula only, to India I think. They are the primary producers of this stuff. You will find mostly the Arko, Palmolive, Gillette tube lube in central and eastern Europe as well as north Africa and the middle east. I think it stores and travels better. I do not know. All this could be garbage.
