Gentlemen,

Time for me to punt this one: Cremo Shave Cream.

After reading positive comments on this product, probably here, I ordered two 6-oz. tubes of the shave cream. Several days later, having tried the cream with and without a brush, following all the instructions on the tube, I finally chose to take my losses and walk the other way.

Cremo Shave Cream might work well for others. For me, however, it provided little cushion. With a brush, I had plenty of lather, yes, but the texture was thin. Without a brush, unless an Indy driver with my straight razor, I found myself constantly applying water to my face to keep it from drying. It still gave me little cushion.

Worst, I had to keep washing my hands with soap and drying the razor shank with a towel to prevent the razor from slipping.

In the end, my shaves were far from passable, and now I am stuck with two 6 oz. tubes of Cremo Shave Cream.

My regular rotation includes Taylor of Old Bond Street Rose shave cream, its counterpart by Trumper, Tabac soap, Truefitt & Hill Ultimate Comfort unscented shave cream, Truefitt & Hill shave soap, Pre de Provence soap and cream and Caswell-Massey soap.

I am more than willing to try something new. Through the years I have eliminated many shave soaps and creams for various reasons. Musgo Real, Gold Dachs and several others had to go after a good tryout. I must include Cremo Shave Cream in that category.

With all due respect to the manufacturer Cremo Shave Cream, as well all the gentlemen who like it, I'm afraid I must punt this one.

Regards,

Obie
