SRD Rose Otto...
From reading through the forum I guess there was a group buy for the SRD Rose Otto soap a while back. Is this still available to purchase? I would love to try some of this.
Cheers,
Josh

I really love the stuff and rue the day my tub is finished.
I have been asking a local soap maker about making shaving soap. She said that she had tried it, but that it was a failure. I guess I can understand that in this particular area...
Anyway, she had never heard of Bulgarian rose otto, so I took my tub to let her smell it. Surprisingly, she said that it made her want to hurl, and another customer jumped away as if she had shoved a dead rat under her nose!
Well, to each his own, I suppose...

It's a very deep, broad-shouldered rose scent, with a sort of dual personality. A rose flowery part for the top notes, but that is kicked into the ditch by an earthy, planty note, that reminds me a bit of Brussels sprouts or asparagus. It lathers up into a different balance, and the left over scent on the skin is different still, as you would expect.
It's a bold statement. I would liken it to Judy Davis in the movie Impromptu. She's a strange bird, but oddly attractive at the same time, and it's hard to figure out what it is that works. Well, that's my opinion, anyway!
If you hate it, you can always sell it in the BST, I'm sure.
