I asked because I have used 2 of the T's with really good results. Taylor and Truefitt. What didn't you like about them?

Thanked: 0The burn. I never thought that I had overly sensitive skin but those creams burn my face. Taylor and Trumper burn to the point of not being able to make it through a second pass. Durning the first lather it's just a tingle, but the second lather is donwright painful. T&H is a little better, but still not my idea of good time.

Thanked: 4JohnP:
That's what I heard. They 'reformulated' it. No feedback on the new stuff, but it can't be much worse. I've had really good shaves with Musgo, Palmolive, Trumper's, and Taylor's creams. I personally will not buy any L'Occitane again when there are so many others I have that do a good job.

Thanked: 79Just as I suspected.
I recently tried out a sample (I told the lady it was crap and I'd tried it before, but she INSISTED...) and was actually quite surprised when it actually gave me a decent lather and a respectable shave.
The tubes I'd bought of it previously (the old formulation?) at a very high price, were hideous-no matter how much cream I used, it would just "dissolve" and absorb into the brush, never to be seen again, no lather, nothing. Just a faint shea butter smell. Not so the stuff in the sample. If it was cheaper I might would risk buying a tube to see if it was a lot better or not.

Thanked: 0Until a month ago, or so, all of my shaving stuff was unscented so it might have something to do with that.

Well today I found my worst shaving cream. It was a sample of Anthony's I got from Saphora. I would have gotten a better lather from Dove soap. A real disappointment. Thank God I didn't spend money on it.

Rich,
The best financial move Sephora could make is to STOP giving away free samples. I was in the local store looking at pre-shave oils and was about to drop $18 on ione when the young cleark offered a free sample. Took it home, tried it out and have never gone back to Sephora again <g>
I think they need to stick with womans cosmetics instead. I am sure the mens stuff is there in hope of eaking a few dollars out of us while we wait for out wives, daughter and girlfriends (not all on the same visit of course <g>).

Tony,
I think you are right. I was interested in trying this shaving cream and the clerk gave me 2 samples of it and the pre shave oil. Boy what crap. The sample pack was 3 times the size I got from Truefitt & Hill and I was thinking boy I've got a number of days from this. I got three days from the Truefitt sample so maybe a week or more. Well the lather was so poor I had to use most of the package to just finish the shave. I threw the second sample away. The oil was also a waste. Should have known better than to shop in a womans store.
