After my last post, I tried adding a little hot water directly to the williams, and also added a touch of mineral oil (had heard that helps create a better lather) and ended up with my face all cut up. Actually drew blood for the first time. I think that was because of a dull blade (haven't gotten it honed yet), though I did change a large portion of the routine that day (also might have been distracted... can't really remember though). Course, now the mineral oil is stuck in the brush, so I don't need to add any more (lol) and found that having the brush like that seems to help get a better lather, also, I tried shaking the last of the water out of the brush before mixing it with the shave soap. It created a thiner layer of a thicker lather (if that makes any sense).

Just sent off an email to Taylors of Old Bond Street asking for samples of their products (that would have been at about eleven on saturday night) and got a response this morning. The person responding to my inquiry was extremely accomodating and said they would send out a package of samples (woot woot!)

Do you suppose if we all send emails requesting samples, they'll mind!?

Seems like a lot of people have gotten samples from them on these forums, still... Well, decide for yourself what you think. This is the reply that I got:

    Dear Sir,

    Thank you for your e-mail.

We do not normally provide samples; however as a gesture of goodwill we will be pleased to make up a couple of samples of our Shaving Cream for you to try.

Please supply your mailing address. We look forward to your reply.

    Kindest Regards,

    Taylor of Old Bond Street

That is the response I received from them verbatim. I'm still waiting for the samples, but I didn't inquire all that long ago.

It takes them a bit of time but it is worth it.

    Thumbs down Question re: Samples

I sent an e-mail to Taylor's of Old Bond St. this afternoon asking if they send new customers any samples of creams or balms. I'm not sure when I'll hear back, if ever.

Does anyone have a valid e-mail address for Geo. F. Trumper? I sent an e-mail to [email protected] but it came back as undeliverable. I'd like to send a similar e-mail to Trumper's. Thanks,

    Jeff

Don't know if this is normal for Taylor's, but they did send a message earlier today saying that they were going to send it out today. Not to say they will, but has anyone else gotten a similar response?
