Other grooming stuff
I just wanted to say that I really enjoy the process of picking out my shave soap, razor, and aftershave. It's really fun to look at all of my choices and pick the ONE that feels right for the day. Well gentlemen, I have found similar pleasure in a few other products offered the well groomed gentleman. I bought some really cool shower soaps from Ray, as well as all of his "artisan" toothpastes. This has added a brand new dimension to my daily regimen. I love it! Try the Jasmin MInt Marvis toothpaste.

Larry,
Great post. I have used the Marvis toothe pastes. I like them, but don't see them being worth the price. But again, just like colognes, aftershaves and shaving creams, this is all personal opinion. One thing to keep in mind is that shaving is a personal care thing. As a rule, most men are too busy being "macho" to be concerned about shaving, complexion, and all of the other items of personal care. Since getting involved in wet shaving a quite a few months back, I have also become more interested in bath soaps, colognes and aftershaves, moisturizers, etc. While I don't know that SRP would be a place to have a separate forum for this, check in at ShaveMyFace.com and peruse the forums there. Lots of good information pertaining to taking care of yourself.

I'm with you Korndog. I haven't tried the Marvis yet, but I'm circling in on it. I too have been exploring the other wonders of the grooming world lately. I spent $18 on a bar of Olive Oil and Orange Blossom soap the other day at Caswell Massey. Killer. I also purchased some Dr. Hunters Shampoo at the same shop. It has a light rosemary scent to it.
I'm not sure if it's the ingredients of my grooming obsession are benefitting me, or the fact that I am actually giving some care to myself is benefitting me or both... the facts are that I look healthier and feel healthier, and my friends have noticed too.
I also suspect that most of us straight razor shavers are fetishists of one kind or another.
I think it may be appropriate to have a seperate forum devoted to this as it is a bit off topic, but in the same family.

Thanked: 0marvis can be obtained as cheap as $5 a tube. go to the wetshavers forum on msn and ask don c for the link. i got like 17 tubes of it at $5 each and shipping was only like $8. not bad. it leaves my teeth feeling cleaner, and i can tell when i rub my teeth with my tongue. feels like the dentist polished it.

madenitaly is the ebay seller that sells Marvis for $5.00 per tube. Looks like they are currently out of stock, but add them to your favorites. Email them at [email protected]. That's how I got hold of them.
