    Default Fitjar Soaps - Fjellheim

So I saw a post from one of the SRP Norway members the other week about Fitjar and their hand made shaving soaps and creams. I was intrigued, so I ordered a tub of their Fjellheim soap, which is had made and scented with essential oils.

    FJELLHEIM
Translation: "mountain range" or "mountain landscape"
Significance: is meant to evoke the freshness of mountain air and the scent of nature, more specifically Norwegian juniper and pine that is abundant in most areas of the Norwegian wilderness.
Pronounciation: "fyellhaim". The j is pronounced like the english y and the e same as in "hell" and the "ei" as in "haven".

The soap arrived today, so I just had an afternoon shave to try it out.

It comes in a pot with a screw lid, the soap is poured into the pot rather than being put in as a loose cake. The scent is really lovely, like being in a pine forest while trees are being felled. The soap lathers easily using a Simpson Eagle 2 Best, and gives a nice supportive lather without being too fluffy - just how I like it.

I shaved with a Feather DE razor and Feather DE blade. Blade lubrication was spot on, and I did WTG and ATG passes giving me a perfect BBS shave. The scent has persisted on my face for the last hour, and my skin feels great afterwards.

This soap gets a big thumbs up from me, I'll be using it as a major part of my rotation, and I will definitely be buying some of Fitjar's other soaps in the near future.

I just put in an order for Fjellheim and Neroli. I'm stoked to try them out!
