Default Why didn't you tell me?!?

My first selection of samples arrived two days ago from Truefitt and Hill. The package included a sample of each of their colognes, shave balm, unscented shaving cream and their 1805 shaving cream. Yesterday, I did my normal prep and opened the 1805 cream.

HOW COULD YOU, MY FRIENDS AND MENTORS, HAVE ALLOWED ME TO SHAVE FOR THESE PAST FEW WEEKS WITHOUT THIS PRODUCT???!!!

I know, having read all of the forums, back to front and back again, you did tell me just how enjoyable/pleasurable a really good shaving cream is. I just was not prepared for the enormous difference this stuff makes. Since I've been using a straight (about a month now), I've used Surry glycerine shave soap (from Walgreens) and the Men-U shaving cream from http://www.men-uusa.com/index.asp?Pa...S&Category=212
Both are great products and certainly head and sholders above anything I've ever tried that came out of a can. However, the quality and quantity of the lather from a pea sized amount of the T&H shave cream was amazing. What's more, the quality of the save using this stuff was better than any I've experienced to date (and I wasn't even using my best razor). The quality of the shave does not seem to have been a fluke either as it was repeated this morning. Not only that, but the scent is truely wonderful, not overpowering, more intoxicating. Their shave balm is extraordinary as well; soothing, quickly absorbed, not oily/greasy.

I am sold! I will never go back to a lesser quality product! I implore any new shavers out there to order some quality shave cream immediately! Now! Before you log off of your computer! Don't say you've not been warned.

    Default I agree!

Prof, the T & H was the first top shelf cream I tried too, and it was the 1805 in a sample. I have a tub now and still use it at least a couple times a week. I am a big fan of the 1805 fragrance as well, I have bottles of the cologne and a/s balm. The balm is just like the sample you received, only with the 1805 fragrance. They have a new one coming out, Ultimate Comfort A/S Balm, and it's really REALLY good. Not sure if it's available yet, I'm still on my sample. You MUST try the T & H soap next.
Now go and get samples from Trumper, DR Harris, Coates, Taylor of Old Bond Street, and Castle Forbes. They'll all blow you away. Welcome to phase 2 of the shaving madness........... ......................Jeff

As we have all learned over time as the level of prep improves, the quality and enjoyability of the shave also increases. I just started using preshave gel and oil I'm experimenting with taylor and the art of shaving and it really does improve the shave overall. I've been alternating between Trumpers and Haslinger soaps and Vulfix cream, all great stuff though I think the Vulfix scent is a little overdone. I think the Trumpers is just enough to smell great without being overpowering and smells natural without that artificial smell.

I've been groovin' on the T&H and DR Harris Arlington soaps for the last two weeks. They are both equally as good as any of my creams, but that won't stop me from indulging my SCAD. I will have to add a third shelf to my shaving area at this rate. The first two filled up rapidly with creams and AS products. Thank god the brushes use the underside of the shelves. Ain't shaving grand?
