Thanked: 2New formula Penhaligon's
The new soap is out (or at least available to purchase). Has anyone tried it and if show how does it compare to the old? I am assuming it is not tallow-based.

consensus so far is lesser quality compared to the original one (tallow) and that includes both the soap performance and bowl quality and finish. I'd personally pass on this one myself.

This really is a sad time for those of us who love the original English Fern soap. I am getting tired of manufacturers mucking up good products. I wonder which one will be next?

Thanked: 293I'm just curious what could have been the reasoning behind this? I've never tried the original or new formulas, but would gladly try either if the reviews were good. If the reviews of the new stuff are bad, then how does the company expect to make any money off the product?

Write a letter.
It caused Coke to revert
I recommend taking a pix of your last bit of English Fern and
printing it on paper as a background and then in you best
penmanship write an eulogy.
Marketing droids almost never see positive feedback from
happy customers as the pile of negative Nelly emails and
pressure to increase sales builds too many product managers
make a move they regret.
The power of a letter is massive. There are days when some
TV show or news coverage is so offensive that I do the letter
thing. For example if I see a Ford advertisement I take a pix of a Subaru and
tell Ford how happy I am to be a Subaru owner in light of their
sponsor association with channel 123456 news not live. Low ticket
products and even beer get an competitors proof of purchase
(barcode) stapled to the letter. Always honest and specific.....
For each bad letter I write I require myself to send out at least one
positive letter to some vendor to keep my karma in balance. Sending
thank you letters, even via email is very satisfying.

Does it cost an arm and a leg, or just a leg?
