    Default Pacific Shaving Company Cream

I ordered this cream in the "gift pack" which also comes with shaving oil, nick stick, and blade oil.

Pacific Shaving Company. Good for the skin. Good for the wallet. Good for the Earth.

I had tried using the cream as directed, which is to just massage the cream onto your wet face. It says it has a low-lather formula. Anyway, I was not impressed with the shave that I got. So today, I tried putting a small amount in a bowl and working up a lather with my brush. I ended up getting quite a bit of lather, as well as one of the best shaves I've ever had (I was using a mach3).

I have one question/concern. The lather did something weird with my brush (Tweezermans). Whenever I applied lather to my face, the brush just kinda formed to my face as I applied pressure, and it held that shape when I took the brush away from my face. With the other soaps I've tried (Williams, VDH, Conk) the brush maintains its shape for the most part. I hope I'm explaining this clearly...

So I'm wondering if there is something in this cream that is bad for my brush. The website I linked to above has the ingredient list. Any ideas?

    ctbillings,

Hmmm...Your brush stuck/formed to your face??? Perhaps the formulation is rather dense. If my memory serves me correctly, the shave cream you used has oatmeal as one of the ingredients. If that's the case, I would think that it would be somewhat sticky. I don't think oatmeal would have an adverse effect on your brush, though.

Perhaps you should consider writing and posting a review of this shave cream on SRP, if it has not already been done by another member.

I had a feeling I was not explaining it clearly. The brush did not stick to my face. With other soaps, the brush pretty much maintains its shape. With this cream, after I press the brush to my face, the bristles stay lop-sided, or smooshed.... they do not revert back to the normal brush shape. I also thought I remembered reading something on here about certain products (like shave oils) that may be harmful to the brush, so I wanted to make sure I wasn't damaging my brush.
