Thanked: 530CarrieM's Creams...
I have seen several posts that refer to these, and I was wondering what the deal was with them? I know that, like most other hand-made products, contacting CarrieM, herself, would be the best way to find out, but I usually reserve PMing someone for until I'm ready to buy, and I still need to get a new TM Linen before I can get anything else, so I figured I'd go to the general forum...
So, fellow Shavers, the CarrieM soaps, how do you like them, what scents do they come in, what did you pay (and how much did you get).... The usual.
Thanks guys and gals!
Cheers,
Jeremy

The deal is that they are awesome. CarrieM has more scents than I can ever remember; she's got bottles on her bottles. I've had a chance to sample from various batches of Carrie's creams, and IMO, each has been better than the last. Now this is a serious statement, because ever since I got some of her early stuff (months ago? if you search my old SOTD's and look for references to Williamson cream/soap/uberlather, that's CarrieM's stuff before she went "public") it's been the only thing that I shave with. Even back they they were amazing. Great tolerance for errors in water, thick lather with loads of cushon, but also very slick. I've really liked all the scents that I've tried and smelled when visiting, but scent is a personal thing.
In short, three thumbs up and get some for yourself and everyone you know. And then get some matching bath soap too.

Thanked: 530Wow... Guess I gotta save up a bit of cash for some Carrie-cream (er... That sounds lewd...)
My list just keeps growing, and I still don't have a job... Oh well, New semester just started, maybe I can find something between classes >.<

+1 - CarrieM's creams are great! She has a whole lot of scents, so you'll have to check with her on availability, but I bought the Sandalwood and Lilac, both of which are very nice. I've heard rave reviews about the Black Raspberry Vanilla, which is next on my list. My brother came by and swiped about a third of each jar.
IMHO, the cream's a little tougher to lather up than say the Proraso out of the tube, but once you get the hang of it they are really slick and cushiony. (Not quite as tough to lather as the Bomb, but I definitely notice some similarities.) I get a really comfy shave with them.
Overall, I think she did an awesome job! Go for it!
As for price, all I'll say is it's definitely worth every penny and you won't be breaking the bank. To put it another way - when I heard the price I ordered two jars instead of one. (I hope that's not out of line... )
What I like best - and this is true of all of the products and services I've gotten through SRP - is that I'm helping other members by supporting their creativity and they're helping me get a better shave experience. I PM'd CarrieM the week of Christmas and she made them to order and had it at my door for Christmas Eve! Then to get such an awesome product to boot - how can you ask for more?
Thanks again Auntie Karen!

Thanked: 530I wasn't worried about it being a bank breaker... It's actually that I have exactly $2.34 in my bank (Non savings) and that is all the money I have to "spare" until I can find another job...
I worked for the Browns, but their season has ended, so I need to find work between now and the next season... I'm in college, and I've paid half of my tuition up front to my parents, so I don't owe anything (I never drive around campus, and rarely drive home) so I have literally no MANDATORY expenditure, but also NO income... Which means I'm not in a bad position, but I, unfortunately, can't purchase any goodies...

Thanked: 326I wanted to order them all to be honest but needed to simmer down on AD. So I asked for few creams and samples.
I look forward to Bayrum, Black Raspberry Vanilla, and Frost.
I'll post up when I get chance.
Thanks Carrie!

Thanked: 530I got a whiff of the Black Raspberry Vanilla while I was visiting Lynn, and DAMN! It smelled DELICIOUS. If I didn't know it was shaving cream, I probably would have mistook it for yogurt, and tried to eat it!
I WANT some of that :P
Also, I LOVE the scent of Bay Rum, so that sounds like a good call too...
Gah, I need employment!
