    Default Old Spice..

I have an Old Spice lather mug that was my grandfathers. It's actually the reason I got into the whole wet shaving, and eventually on to str8's. My question though, is did Old Spice used to produce cake soaps? I know they still make their 'after shave', if you can call that alcohol based stuff that.

Does anyone know if they did make cakes, or if they still do (doubt it)? I enjoy the smell of OS, so if anyone can recommend a similar soap or after shave thats not bad for your skin, it would be appreciated.

I'm not sure if Old Spice still makes soaps or not. One of ClassicShaving.com's scents for their soap is a citrus scent, which is supposed to be close to Old Spice.

Old spice is p&g nowadays, so they probably do not do to many "niche" things anymore.

Just for the fun of it, I tried www.oldspice.com ...... If you let them steal your name, the caring for the product seems to be gone.

ps, can't find any hard shaving soap on their website.

The answer is Yes they did. This was my first shaving mug and soap and I used them for years. I thought their soap was quite good and preferred it over William's which was the only other i could find at the time (early 80's). I remember the mug came with a cake of soap snugly in it and a red plastic cap that fit into the mug.

No. Old Spice soap is no longer made.

However, it can still be found on ebay. Most the time I have seen it it is still in the mug. Depends on how much you want to pay for the soap, but you can still get it.

The Old Spice shaving soap was discontinued in 1992 (I think).
It can be found from time to time on eBay, usually with a mug and goes for anywhere from 9.00/cake (without mug) to 20.00; and with mug.... you could pay 30.00 if you REALLY wanted it! LOL

The cream is available from an e-tailer in India (it is made there) and is more than reasonable. Shipping to my residence in Ontario took 5 business days! It smells exactly like the Old Spice Soap used to and gives a gr8 shave. Although, for those who cannot use lanolin, I suggest they not order this shave cream....

The listed prices are in 'Rupees' but there is a convertor there too.

IF you really want the Old Spice experience....

They stopped making the mugs & the soap in 1992 .
