Thanked: 530Razor Burn Galore!!
Long story short, I pulled a dumb, and decided to shave at 3:30 am... I got -rather surprisingly- a great shave... I also, however less surprisingly, used WAY too much pressure, so my face is all red and PAINFUL!
I'm looking for a Post Shave Balm that is commercially available and cheap... What I've seen so far -near me- is the C.O. Bigelow Post Shave Elixer in red, green, and black. I've also seen the Nivea stuff...
Anyone have experience with these or other widely available ones?
Thanks.
Cheers,
Jeremy

The Nivea balms are excellent. The Sensitive in particular.

Trumpers sandalwood skin food.
Once you try it, you'll never use anything else..!

Trumper's is very good, it's my favourite. However, maybe give your face a rest for a couple of days.

+1 on Danny. I use it everyday. It's cheap, smells fine, works great, feels good. Oh, and eases RB.
I love the smell of shaving cream in the morning!

You might find that not many quality products come cheap. There are some, but there aren't many of them around.
I would give a +1 to Trumper's Skin Food, but not the Sandalwood version. The Coral version is much better in my opinion and I use it regularly to soothe similar problems (perhaps when my razor is a little dull and so on).
If you really are looking for a balm I can thoroughly recommend Roger & Gallet's L'Homme After Shave Balm. Superb smell, nice mild cooling effect (menthol) and surprisingly quite moisturising. I got mine for £11 or £12 here in the UK. I've posted a review of it somewhere in the reviews section here.

Thanked: 137I'm with the GFT Skin Food recommenders all the way - I have the Lime scented one (LOVE the scent) and it's proved to be such a good post-shave balm that it now only gets brought out after a bad shave (it's very hard to get in NZ so I have to ration it - I had to get it shipped to someone in the US who then reposted it on to me). I've also got the Nivea Replenishing AS Balm, and when it can't deliver the soothing I need on my razorburn, I head for the GFT - 5-10 minutes after applying the GFT and my face feels like it never met a blade, apart from the lack of whiskers.

I own and like the Trumper's Skin Food range, but I thought the OP was asking for something he could just go pick up from a local store rather than order online.
