Best shaving cream/soap for dry skin

Hi, I rencently started shaving with a straight razor and I really enjoy it even if I did cut myself like 14 times LOL. Anyways what I'm looking for is a quality cream or soap for dry skin. my skin is perfectly normal until I put either some Proraso cream or williams soap. the longer my shave takes the dryer my skin is. I have tried a moisturizing aftershave and it helped a bit but my skin is still extremely dry. Would anyone have recomendations?

Trumper's Skinfood is very hydrating and just a great product with scents that are not too overpowering. I have the sandalwood flavour, I heat the coral is always good.
As I say the scents are really subtle and it really moisturizes the skin. I don't have that dry skin but out of the three aftershaves that I have (Proraso, Taylor's Sandalwood Gel and Skinfood) Skinfood is the most moisturizing and hydrating. I don't think you can go wrong with it.

Try Pre de Provence shaving cream. It should do the trick for you. Haven't tried the Pre de Prevence shaving soap, but it's also extremely well regarded. Both are moderately priced.

++1 on the Pre de Provence shaving cream suggestion. It contains Shea butter which should hydrate your skin.

Institute Karite also makes a shaving cream that contains both Shea Butter and Aloe Vera, which should also address your dry skin problem.

IMHO, GFT Rose and Coconut oil are great for sensitive skin in both cream and soap. I find that soaps have a more clean and dry finish than creams, so you may want to go the cream route. If your looking for something more fatty, then Cella Crema da Barba (my standby) is a great one for sensitive and dry skin.

T&H has some great products, but they have severely limited the products for the American market. (I really want to try out their rose cream.) I've never been a fan of TOBS, but I have friends who swear by it.

I agree on the Proraso. It's great for the first pass, but very drying on the second pass.

Good luck, I find that I can never have too many soaps and creams. My next two will be Santa Maria Novella Crema and T&H Rose Cream (I've only had rose soaps...)

Any good soap will do the trick for you. Mitchells Woolfat has lanolin so it might be just what you are looking for.

+1 for MWF. I have dry skin as well and this (along with Skin Food) has made a difference.

Santa Maria Novella has lanolin in it, its listed as a cream, but can be considered a soft soap.

Either way, its great and is very similar to Proraso in its scent.

Try some Proraso Pre and after shave cream. I find it very moisturizing and I have dry skin.

Mitchell's Wool Fat, Pre de Province and Mama Bear are sure hits for dry skin. Trumper, Taylor and Truefitt & Hills creams are all quality, and reasonably priced. I have not tried Santa Maria Novella mentioned, so I can't comment on it.
