Default the ultimate bay rum line..

being a stickler for things.. i don't like to mix and match brands.. i have been using the burt's bees shave soap, aftershave balm, and cologne.. i'm happy and the shave soap works just fine..

but now i want to try some shave creams.. also.. i've noticed certain bay rum hair tonics i might want to try instead of my usual brylcreem.. i guess i just want to venture out of the norm.. i'm wondering what everyone's favourite bayrum line is? and if there is one that includes, a cream and matching aftershave balm, as well as a cologne?

thanks, and please forgive me if this is a preexisting thread.

IIRC, there was a thread, "bay rum parade" by gssixgun, a while back. I have yet to try bayrum though so I will be of no help. I am interested though in hearing some opinions, as I have been thinking about branching out as well.

Just my two cents, but my favorite bay rum scents are from different sources. I know it's not exactly what you were asking for, but I really like this combo and I've been using it more often than not lately.

When I go all out on the Bay Rum, it's Al Raz's "Calypso Bomb" followed by Domenica bay rum aftershave. I tend to get extra generous with the coverage with the Domenica (a little on the shirt collar) in order to get a few hours out of the scent.

yeah.. i definitely want to try out the bomb.. i have read nothing but good things about it.. as far as the dominica goes.. does it have lasting power? the think that keeps me with the burt's bees is that the balm stays with me all day.. it leaves a great scent from 8am till whenever i stumble into the shower.. it's also heavy on the cloves.. which i like.. it actually complements the clove cigarettes i smoke.. rather than leaving me smelling like a junkie chain smoker.

Domenica usually lasts about four or five hours on me. I can get more if I splash on a bunch.

I'm new to this whole game myself but I decided to go with the old faithful Pinaud-Clubman line they have been an American tradition FOREVER and they are pretty cheap. The Bayrum is presently my favorite, I like the Clubman too.

I also found Booster which seems to be the Canadian counterpart to Pinaud-Clubman. I will probably try their products after a while.

Ogallala Bay Rum is a muted bay rum scent that doesn't over power and my wife likes it. I think the key to any bay rum is whether the women can stand it...I personnaly like some others out there, but they leave me smelling like a corpse..

I like Ogallala, especially the Bayrum & Sandalwood.
