Thanked: 5Getting soap cake out of a bowl
I have a triple milled L'Occitane Cade soap cake that I've used a few times. Now I want to put it in another soap bowl, but can't get it out of the one it's currently in. I've tried soaking it in hot water and prying it, but it didn't work. I don't want to break it in pieces either. Is there an easy way to release a soap that's stuck in a bowl?

Assuming you dont want to keep the bowl its currently in, you could drill a hole in the bottom of the bowl and push the soap out from the bottom.

Let it sit open for a while, a week or two. This should dry the puck out and you can pry it loose pretty easily. Worked with my D.R.Harris, accidentally though.

Thanked: 5Thanks, guys!
It's in a wide bowl, not a mug.
It's already been sitting around for a while, so I'll give it a good whack when I get home. Hopefully it'll come loose.

Getting soap cake out of a bowl
Hello, Sigurd:
What I have done in the past is this: After allowing the soap to sit for a few days to dry, I then take a butter knife and patiently work it around the edge between the soap and the container. That has worked for me.
Regards,
Obie

Thanked: 2Could you possibly melt it and then pour it into the container that you want it in.

I've used a spoon to scoop it out with great results.

Thanked: 5I'm glad to see you are all concerned about the soap!
I can report that the soap is doing well in its new home, which by the way is a mug I bought near Sacré-Coeur in Paris. The "dry-the-soap-and-whack-it-out-trick" worked wonders! No need to pry, just a solid whack against a hard surface. I used the floor, and put a towel on it to prevent the soap from cracking into pieces. Thanks, SRP.
I bought another bowl of Tabac today too, just to feed my SAD...
