Thread: Shaving soap with wood bowl question

Ok I'm interested in trying a new shaving soap. I notice that most come with a wood bowl. If for example I buy the Geo F. Trumper soap that includes the wood bowl and in a month I want to try a Talor of old bond street soap will it fit?

Do most just buy one wood bowl to hold there soap? or with every type of soap there buying a bowl for it?

I do have one wood bowl i bought when I first started out, but i found that the pyrex bowls at wallyworld work really well.

More than likely, yes. If not you can easily make it, but most are the same/similar shape/size.

Usually most soap I've seen seems to come in two general sizes. The typical english soaps are the larger and some of the less expensive soaps are the smaller ones. The English wood bowls take the larger sizes so any of those should fit. The other soaps like VDH and conk for example would be too small.
