    Default Institut Keritte

I have tried seven or eight of the "TOP" selling soaps available. My vote goes to Institut Kerite. It is a French soap with shea butter. It lathers well, does not irritate my skin and provides a smooth shave. It last a long time and has a plesant scent. I use a SRD bowl and a Simpson pure badger brush. This combination works well.

I don't want to name a favourite as such, but if I found myself with just Wool Fat, that'd be fine.

+1 on the MWF, good to see you back Mark. Hope all is well.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

My two current favourites are MWF (actually Kent here, but same thing), and Dr. Harris Arlington...but if I had to choose one it would be MWF.
It's a decent price, lathers well, and has FABULOUS glide and moisturizing properties, IMO.

All that said, there are still far too many soaps I haven't tried; I still haven't even tried anything from MamaBear...that coffee scented one sounds too good to be true.

    Default Favorite Shaving Soap . . .

    Gentlemen:

Through the years, I have lathered up with scores of shaving soaps, everything from Mitchell's Wool Fat to Tabac. They all have their own qualities.

I must offer two names as my favorites, however, since I find them equal in every way and, therefore, prefer not to choose one over the other.

Provence Sante Verlaine and Institute Karite, both French, hold healthy amounts of shae butter, which does wonders for the skin. They create luxurious lather, have great cushion and glide. Their scents are floral and subtle, exuding a sense of clean and fresh. I can't say enough good things about these fine soaps.

    Regards,
    Obie

Thanks Jimmy I have been out of state in a hospital recieving treatment for my cracked spinal implant. They have tried a fix for it and I had to lay in a bed at the hospital for 3 months. But I am doing better.

    Thanks
    Mark

http://straightrazorpalace.com/shavi...ving-soap.html - incredibly expensive, but in my opinion the best soap in the market. It really is more of a cream, though. South of that, MWF, SRD, and Mühle/Edwin Jagger "Aloe Vera" in no particular order.
