    Default Few soap questions...

I'm back after a short break from this site...

Been reading on the Williams soap thread and VDH thread, kinda funny how you get so many people with so many different views and experiences... I also have an old puck that was in the mug I recieved from my moms that was her dads but I cannot make out the logo on the bottom side. I have had decent luck with Williams.

Any how I am fixing to finish up a puck of Williams I bought just shortly after I joined this sight and lastnight I actually rubbed a whole throught the puck in the center. I have heard of melting the soap, do I just leave the soap in the mug and melt in microwave or is there a better way?

Also I got curious on VDH since I have yet to use that brand so I visited a website that had most all their products. I say that but just last week I picked up a white handled deluxe boar brush from CVS. The reason I went that route was the brush I have is one handed down to me that was my grandfathers. Did not want to ruin it, I am rough on things like that. You ought to see my tooth brushes and you'd understand...

Back on subject, my wife likes for me from time to time to whip her up a good lather so she can shave her legs and such and while I was on the VDH site I seen a woman's soap. Can someone please explain, its two sided... Van der Hagen Enterprises If you go to the site go to products and you'll see it in pink. They also have it for mens... (Not in pink!)

Also they have select soap, deluxe soap and glycerin soap... Whats the difference in plain english?

    Thanks for the input...

You should be able to get VDH soap at Wal Mart...head on down. I think they carry the 'glycerin' version and should be fine. Heck, if you're going to order online, upgrade to something better. Don't get me wrong, the VDH soaps are alright, but there are so many other ones online. I would only go VDH or Conk if I were to be buying locally.

Melting the soap right in the mug should be fine if it's glycerin based. Tallow based probably won't melt.

In regards to the two side pucks you mentioned: one is a soap for body washing, the other is for shaving. I've never used them but it seems like a silly idea. I agree with red that if you're going to go online order something better.
