    Default Lush soaps

I walked into a store in the mall today called lush. They make all sorts of handmade natural and organic soaps.

I saw they have shave soaps as well was wondering if anyone had used these before. If so what did you guys think.

Or do I have to be the test subject

    they are the latherless style.

Like the Body Shop, they will give out free samples if you ask.

They are okay, but nothing special. And definitely NOT worth the price.

I've never tried Lush shaving soap myself but I can't recall anyone saying anything favourable about them.

I tested it out at the store on my hand just to see how it lathers, i only found out after I thought I was doing it wrong that it doesn't lather.

While it did leave my hand all nice and smooth I don't know how well it would work for straight shaving.

My stepdaughter works in the Winnipeg Lush store. I'll have her bring me some samples. Although they may not lather, perhaps they'd be okay for the odd DE shave that I have.

these latherless creams do tend to clog DEs and cartridges.

Fortunately, clogging is never an issue with straights.

In Ontario, they have 3 different types. Ask for a smaple of each. I tried all 3. 1 I liked. 1 gave me a rash and the 3rd was just okay and nothing special.

They do have quite a bit of lubricity.

I have been using all three of them for quite a while.
What I have ended up with, is to use them as preshaves when shaving my head. The three varieties are Razorantium, my favourite, Shave the planet and Ambrosia. In my opinion they Are all good products, but I will always use a soap or cream that lathers as well in my shaving routine.

Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

Pretty much my feeling. My GF got me 2 free samples to try (she has previously given me things like Cella, GFT & CF preshave ). I tried Prince yesterday & found it a competent brushless cream (good for if I'm in a rush) w/ good moisturizing/skin protecting/cushioning properties & fair glide. Tried Dirty & did not like it at all for shaving, but it might make a pretty decent AS for the colder, drier months. No glide, no cushion, allows the beard hairs to dry back out & harden--whipped out the Cella & finished my shave w/ some irritation. Clearly not suited for straight shaving although it might work better w/ a D/E. In any case, I like lathering too much to ever give that up!

In other news, I believe this is my first necropost!
