Default Lubricity? You can't Handle the Lubricity!!

I'm not quite sure how to say this, so I'll just come straight out with it and not beat around the bush. I hope no-one finds it offensive.

I have been thinking recently about shaving cream and lubricity - the more lubricious, the better the shave, other things being equal, right?

So, today I added a couple of squeezes of water-based personal lubricant to my lather as I mixed it up.

Well. I had one of the smoothest shaves I've had in quite some time, no joke. It's only a one-off trial at the moment, so I may be kidding myself. But I intend to keep experimenting with it and will report my findings.

Ok I'm trying not to think of this but it will not leave me alone...

I don't think I could tell a bunch of nuts that I smear KY on my face... and live to tell the tail...

Yeah - I guess it is a bit dodgy

To make myself feel a bit better about it, I went on a scientific exploration - one of the main ingredients in personal lubricant is glycerin. So, nothing earth-shattering there after all

James, a true Aussie through and through. No sense of shame!

BTW, Coral Skin Food has glycerin which also makes it a good pre-shave. You could have tried that instead. Still, just as long as you didn't use KY as a post-shave.

LOL!! Actually, I do have a sense of shame, just no sense of propriety!

I'm thinking of starting a series of posts: "Slightly Inappropriate Shaving Additives".

Look out for next week's installment - "Burn Relief? You Can't Handle the Burn Relief!!: Alum Blocks and Preparation H".

Part of my life has a strong association with the theatre. The makeup girls always use KY jelly has a hair gel. Apparently it's the best thing out there and really makes a nice "oiled style" shine.
