Thanked: 20As a note to all, I only accept pay pal, I am sorry about this. The credit card machines run a lot of money and about $50 a month to maintain. I am not making enough money to justify $50 bucks a month, but who knows what the future holds... untill then, please accept my apologies, but a credit card machine would put me out of business right now.... I am trying very hard to make a good product and am not using cheap ingredients... I don't make very much money on my soaps, I just love making them....
Hugs to all

I know certain other members on here that have web shops use paypal, but the software allows the buyer to enter a credit card via paypal without actually having to use a paypal account. The funds are still delivered via paypal to the seller, and charged by paypal to the user. I am not sure if it is ebay that requires you to actually open a paypal account, or your particular setup?
I personally do not support software that tracks my purchases and spending habits, and stores credit card information..call me paranoid.

Thanked: 20Thank you FUD. I will certainly look into this. What is tough is when you are selling a $6 item and they charge 30 cents and then also a 3% fee. That works out to 48 Cents. I also have an additional percentage they are charging me but maybe this is overlooked as part of the 3%, but I will have to find out. Then ebay charges me about 90 cents to sell each soap plus another 5 cents to list the items each and every month. It is tough, but I feel like I am being nickled and dimed to death. Right now my ebay bill is higher than the sales I have made! I only make about a buck on each soap, but if I take a harder look at what I pay to ebay I am terrified it will turn out that I am acually losing money. I have some homework do and will do it shortly thanks to your input tho and find out where I really stand with all of this.. I have to say that it feels good to me knowing that I am supplying a good product, especially so since I enjoy making it so much. I love the feedback I get from everyone here too.. some of you guys are so terrific it boggles my mind and I am very much enjoying my experience here. Some how and somewhere I will find a way to do this and maybe make a little pin money too.....
Hugs to all of you and thanks for your support!!

I feel for you. I've been contracting/self employed for over 7 years now, with the last 5 being more self employed than contracting. I know it's hard to get in there and make a decent profit against all the huge corporations that want to destroy you. Ebay's fees are beginning to take advantage of the huge corporations also and put a big damper on small business hopefuls. That's the very reason I've stayed away from an ebay store. I'm considering setting up a paypal checkout on the website but with a warning that the buyer will have to absorb some of the costs if they go through paypal. We don't have enough business yet to pay the monthly fees for online credit card processing. Most people are willing to do the transaction over the phone for credit which is wonderful. We only pay one and a quarter percent that way.
God Bless and good luck.

Pearberry
Ok guys, this morning I used Mama Bear's Pearberry soap. It smells a lot like Juicy Fruit gum tastes. The same awesome lather and lubricating quality as any of her soaps. Periodically, I go back and try other soaps to compare them and it's really hard to find something that competes. Once again, another flavor highly recommended. My favorites so far are still the Dragon's Blood and the Egyptian Musk, but the other scent's are nice as well. I'm eagerly awaiting the Amber now. I love the smell of the Colonel Conk Amber, so I think this may end up being my favorite.
