Default A Christmas ham go a-wassailing shave soap

Well the title is a little odd but that is what
Burt's Bees Bay Rum Shaving soap reminded
    me of this morning.

I do not want to do a review of this soap so when
it sounds like a review just insert 'random thoughts'
    in front of any statement.

First off I like this soap, but it needs
help or at the least good brush
and mug lathering skills. It is not MWF's
or Tabac's equal on ease of lathering...

This soap is so full of powered herbs and spices like cinnamon, clove
and bay that as the lather dries it gets very thick and the
    amount of solids is obvious.

It is also rich in aromatic oils: bay , orange, lemon, cinnamon, fir needle,
lavandin, cedarwood, patchouli, clove, sage oils. It is a very fragrant
    mix... almost powerful.

I indicated that it is difficult to lather. That is easily
solved with a little uberlather-esk additions. A small bit
of shave cream can help improve the lather. Or just take
time and care building a lather with a stiff brush.

I am a little early posting this but I honestly think that this is
a fun winter holiday soap. If you only go a-wassailing one
week a year you need this soap for those occasions.

The fragrance is fun, bold and very very spicy....

Even if you do not like it to shave with use is as a spicy
holiday shower soap or a sachet in the bureau drawers .

Vendors that read this have some months to try a
sample of Burt's Bees Bay Rum Shaving soap and
if they like it get a timed order in for holiday
    special offers.

i shaved with this soap for years with my mach3 and loved it.. i just recently stopped using it when switching to straights because i've been going crazy with trying everything out there.. maybe i'm just not that picky or i have wonderskillz... but i've never had the burt's bees dry out on me.. it is by far the spicyist most intense smelling soap i've ever used..

i think i'll be bringing it out tomorrow morning.

It did not dry out while shaving.

I took a mandated trip (by the other half) to toss snails from
the garden and dump the garbage. After these urgent
tasks were accomplished I got to resume my shave.
To resume -- just add a bit of water and face lather.

    Good non-review

You are right-on with my impressions of Burt's Bees. There is a nice scent, but the lather is lacking in too many respects for me

The lather may be difficult to build but the shave is good.
And with a pea size bit of shave cream tossed in you
get the best of both worlds.
