recylced lather
When I am finished I squeeze out the remaining lather and put it back in the mug. Just have too ask if other people do this or is it taboo.
Thanks,
Glen

I rinse my brush out in the sink and then I put a little water in my mug and rinse any excess lather down the drain. Any lather put back in the mug will just dry out anyway so I don't think you're gaining anything by trying to keep it.

I never rinse off my soaps, just let them dry. And I've never thought about recylcing lather!

When I first started visiting SRP I remember a member mentioning that he saved his leftover lather. I've done it ever since...
When I'm done shaving I squeeze the excess from the brush into the mug that I use to work up lather in. I then add a little water to the brush and work it in my hand, then squeeze it again. I've convinced myself that this cuts my soap usage by 25-30%, but I'm probably just kidding myself...
Since I use the same soap most every day I don't have to worry about mixing different types of soap and/or fragrances. But I've noticed that when I do mix different soaps, they don't all work well together. For example, my homemade soap doesn't mix well with Poraso creme... the resultant lather just doesn't "froth" right. I suspect this would generally be true when mixing any hard and soft soap, but I haven't mixed enough to say that for sure.
BTW, as I recall that member was Uthed... we haven't heard from him in a LONG time. Hope he's ok... anyone know?

Guilty
Yup, I'm guilty of recycling lather too. Who knows what sort of witch's brew is in my scuttle...

When using soaps I just let the lather stay in the bowl.
I do pour out any water, but thats all. Is there any
benefit to this?
