To be honest, i have never tried a drugstore soap. I have never heard of any of those soaps and not sure if they are carried here or it is a local thing. If you say they are good, then i will look more closely at the ones carried in drug stores around here.

Thanked: 1195Victor,
Here in Canada, Shoppers Drug Mart carries a couple of the brands you listed. They are also a reliable supplier of Proraso products, which I highly recommend if you haven't tried them already. Out of the cheaper brands IMO Proraso is one of the best. Not much more I can tell you, other than KMF seems to be popular with the uberlather crowd.

The only drugstore shaving soap I am familiar with is Williams.
Of course, Wal-Mart may carry a wider variety, such as VDH. Never used it, but I've read posts by SRP members that it is pretty good."Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter." Mark Twain

The glycerin soap I've bought at Wal-Mart is pretty good. I too, have only seen Williams in drug stores. Whileon vacation last week, I resorted out of desparation, to Pears, a transluscent bath soap ( but not glycerin as it turns out). It was better than Williams but I chose not to pack it for the return trip.

Crabtree & Evelyn
Victor,
You might be surprised what you find when searching for shaving cream. I thought Crabtree & Evelyn (C&E) products were only available in their boutiques found in exclusive shopping centers in major cities. That is, until I used the vendor locator on their website. Much to my surprise, they indicated that a tiny rural drugstore in Tallassee, Alabama (population 200???) about a 20-30 minute drive from the small college town I live in was a vendor! I thought it was surely a mistake, but amazingly when I called them it wasn't! I was surprised that they had most of the men's products in their small pharmacy.
I was in Knoxville, TN on business a few months ago and went into a C&E boutique there. They told me that they will ship for free for any purchase over $50 (if you're interested in stocking up).
I'm addicted to the C&E scents, especially Nomad - it's a light citrusy scent. Considering how long they last, I consider C&E to be reasonably priced. The pharmacy sold them for the same price as C&E website.
C&E makes their scents Nomad & Sandalwood in a cream (for some strange reason they don't make Sienna in a cream, just the soap).
You might want to check it out.

Thanked: 3Am a williams man from way back. Liked the VDH but it didn't seem to last long at all. Might have just been me but every manjack was worthless with a brush. Recently got some bigilow at bbw, like the results, not sure about the eucelptus scent. On a side note FINALLY found some pinuad clubman at a
CVS, VERY subtle(almost couldn"t smell it after I washed my hands).
