    Default Soap pucks

I do not like the way the soap pucks fit loosely into my soap dish, the way they dislodge and swirl around when i try to load my brush, and I also also really like the glycerin type, so, I combine the two by microwaving the glycerin in a safe container (for 15 to 20 seconds) and pouring it over the soap puck in my shave cup, then allowing it to cool. It seems to give me the best of both worlds, good shave soap and the slippery glycerin glide, plus, it holds the soap in the cup so it does not move when I load the brush. I have tried this with different soaps and I have had good results. Is there an easier solution besides a smaller shaving cup?

You can grate whatever soap into whichever container, and mold it with your fingers.

Microwaving will not work with tallow soaps. If the soap dish is not to much larger, and can take the pressure. I just use my palm after it has been used a couple of times and give it constant pressure and it will deform to fit the bowl.

I use the grater method for the tallow based pucks like MWF and use the stove for the rest. I put the soap that I am going to use in the appropriate dish, put a large pan on the stove with about .75-1" of water in it and bring to a slow boil. This will usually melt down the soap just fine. Let cool and shave...

You want to be careful using a microwave on any soap. Too much heat and you'll effectively burn it and ruin the scent.

The grater option is just as effective and far safer to the soap.
