Question Cella Crema or Mitchell's Wool Fat

So, which one is better or you would prefer and why? I am just curious. I have heard a lot about lanolin or tallow products and I am beginning to wonder whether it is worth to try.

    Robert,

So far we have a 100% vote for Cella

Seriously, I much prefer Cella (or P160 Morbido/Duro) over MWF. Many will consider me a heretic for saying so !!

For me, Cella just shaves so much better - better cushion, better glide etc.

In fact Cella has become my daily go-to soap; superb stuff (for me).

The aroma of Cella is more pronounced than with MWF; some people don't really care for the aroma of Cella - I think it is redolent of 'fatty' almonds

MWF is a very hard soap, whereas Cella is a soft, pliable soap

Both are very fine soaps, so please try both

    Have fun !

    Best regards

    Russ

    Hi Russ,
Thank you for the suggestion. There seems to be two others as the time of this message) that said neither. I think I am very much inclined to try both. Where do you get yours from (MWF or cells)? Also, I have seen that there's an old and a new formulation (at least of the MWF)...any recommendations?

    Cool MWFS v. Cella

I have both soaps, my fav of the two would be MWFS. I like the scent over the Cella which is a tallow based soap. Lanolin complements well with my skin chemistry. Mitchell's has great cushion, and it is easy to produce gobs of thick lather.

I have never used Cella, so I'm not sure if it was truly fair for me to vote for MWF. I will say that of the 15 or so soaps and creams I have tried, MWF is at the top of the list. The scent is almost non existent which sometimes is a good thing. For me, it is by far the easiest soap to lather although others have said the opposite. It is super slick, doesn't dry out and has a nice moisturizing quality that I love.

I have to put Cella on my list, but for now, I can't imagine liking it better than MWF.

I have both, Cella Crema Sapone is obviously an Italian classic, and MWF is as English as mustard and tea.

I without doubt prefer Cella. It gives rise to an awesome lather and is a favourite - in fact I shall use it tonight, having not used it in a while. Cella provides rich, lasting lather that generates effortlessly. It is very cheap and its texture is between a cream and a soap and moulds into any container. It has an almondy kind of scent that is neither too strong nor weak.

MWF on the other hand is as solid as a rock and too lasts ages, no issues as with longevity of a puck. It has a gentle soapy scent that many do not, albeit I do, notice; that is a blend of cloves and lavender.
Used by itself I'm not overwhelmed by the lather it produces, but I mix it with creams that do not perform so well alone, such as AOS.

I'm rambing, sorry! They are both great but I prefer Cella without a doubt. Both are excellent in the moisture department also.

Haha, best way to know for certain! You won't regret your purchases, and I can confirm that these are among the best soaps IMO, although I prefer creams in general.

    Robert,

You chose wisely by getting both

They are like Tabac - soaps that every shaver should try at least once !

MWF is available under two 'flags' :

    1) Mitchells Wool Fat Shaving Soap

    2) Kent Shaving Soap

I have had both, and they are one and the same.

    Have fun !

    Best regards
