Cool Tabac + Proraso cream + glyserin

Almost 2 months with a straight now. Just did an experiment.

Loaded up my BH Brush with Tabac, put a dab of Proraso cream into the cup, then added about 4 drops of glyserin and whipped up some lather adding water to taste...

Shave went great, no nicks, not even any mole cuts. It kinda toned down the menthol that is in the Proraso, not that I don't like it, but it was a nice combo!

Finished up with some Proraso post shave cream, and then Proraso after shave splash.

I just received my briar wood pipe today, I'll be looking for some good pipe tobacco to go with it!

    Live is good!!!

Congrats on everything - including that pipe.

Hey - a tobacco that I have really become fond of is Peterson's Connoisseur's Choice - are really nice aromatic for your first smoke.

I agree with Alembic...The Peterson's pipe tobacco is an excellent choice for a beginner.

Later, as you become more experienced and want some variety in your pipe smoking you may want to try G. L. Pease "Odyssey."

    Congrats on your new pipe.

Just sent for a tin! I haven't smoked a pipe in years. I remember Captain Black, and I think there was one other...

MMMMMMmmmmmmm - G.L. Pease - really good tobaccos. I love Westminster and Barbary Coast.

Haven't tried Odyssey yet - I will have to put it on my list.

Excellent! You're going to love it. Also, it is a little wet out of the tin. Take the amount you are going to load, put it in a dish and let it dry for about 15 - 20 minutes. You will be glad you did. I just opened my whole tin and let it set uncovered for about an hour. Really burns nice when dryer and I have never smoked it around somebody that did not like the room note.

I have used the Tabac + Poraso combo before. I am not crazy about Poraso as it reminds me too much of the goop in the can. Not performance wise, but the scent. When mixed with Tabac, I admit, it does tone it down nicely and it is a good combo.

As far as the pipe. Congrats! I a enjoying my third night with my new pipe as we speak. Still having some trouble keeping this baby lit for the duration, but it is getting more enjoyable.
