    Lightbulb Überlather

My question is, why? This could be a stupid n00b question, but it seems a bit excessive in terms of buying ingredients. Anybody here use it? If so, what do you like about it?

    Cool

Just a simple soap, cream, and glycerin mix. Makes a super rich lather for a treat day!

    Been there, done that!

it's to get the best of each product.. the cushion of the soap and the glide of the cream.. or something like that..

also.. if you have a bummy soap or cream you can still use it rather than have to throw it out..

i went through an uberlathering phase.. but i think i've grown out of it.. i like to have each product stand alone.

Although i dont use Uberlather every time, i certainly use it more times then not, and let me tell you the difference is huge at least for me. It is creamier and the glide is excellent also it really doesnt take much time to whip up. I love to use MWF soap and Musgo Real cream and glycerine. The lanolin properties in both MWF and Musgo alone r great but when combined my skin has never felt more smoooth and soft, try it out u wont be disappointed

i use it 95% of the time. I only use JUST soap or cream when im in a tight pinch. It isnt that expensive and definitely not difficult to make. Its very lubricating and makes good thick heavy lather

    Tino8787,

Its is all about getting a lather that is optimum for the user.

Some people use superlathers, others uberlathers; some add oils to the lather, some use 'personal lubricants' etc, etc.

    Whatever works best for you

A lot of the fun in wet-shaving is experimenting with the different aspects that compose the shave - razors, lathers, brushes, hones etc.

    Have fun !

    Best regards

    Russ

    JMS,

As I understand it, a superlather is a mix of a soap and a cream; a uberlather is a superlather + gylcerine (glycerol).

    Have fun !

    regards

depends. for a normal daily shave, no, it's too much time and too much material.

if i haven't shaved in a few days and have tough stubble, or i'm shaving off a beard/sideburns then yes, because i need the extra cushion and moisture for a more demanding shave.

there is no question that uberlather gives a better shave, the question is: is it necessary all the time?
