Thread: Quick & dirty stacking soap bowls

Just though I'd post this in case anyone else out there was wanting/looking for stacking soap bowls to a little save room on their counter top.

At a fruitless search for some nice stacking soap bowls, decide to just make a set with a couple of MWF bowls I already had on hand.

Just scuff up four or five small spots on the top of an MWF ceramic lid, add a few drops of epoxy, then set the base of another MWF bowl on top of it, let the epoxy cure and you're good to go.

Yeah, a wee bit pricey - but still far cheaper than any other stacking ceramic, glass, or wooden soap bowl sets I came across that were anywhere near close enough in size to accommodate refill pucks w/o the need to melt or grate.

That works out cool, but this works as a good cheap alternative too at about $10 smaller and $15 for the large. They come with the mugs. After I did this post for http://straightrazorpalace.com/soaps...eams-mugs.html I also realized CostPlus' "espresso" stacking mugs also work well. This is not shown in the pic. They normally have tiny mugs up top and plates below. Up top works perfect for Als Bombs, and below where the plates would normally go, is nice to hold something like the woolfat.

That rack is one heck of an idea. That plastic isnt smooth either so i bet it would be great for making lather.

kinda confused....dont know if your are refering to the 'cost plus' mugs I posted, or the thread starters woolfat tubs.

If regarding my post about the stacking cups...

I think they work great. The mugs are a 'traditional' China import glazed dish clay type material. Can not attest of what material it is. Similar to every cheap coffee cup I have ever had, but much wider.

For $10 or $15, I think it's worth the rack alone. For the Jumbo size, the mug is an extra bonus for me. A puck of soap has more than enough space to load your brush when placed in a Jumbo. In the pic I posted, the top mug has a Porasso tub under the Castle Forbes (CF is a VERY wide tub of cream).

They are designed to stack. They fit tight even without the rack. I suppose if you use more than what the rack accommodates, ditch the rack and just stack the mugs.

I'm not much of a soap guy, and only keep one rack of soap pucks/soaps. I like creams more, and have a many racks of creams that I rotate often.

Grabbing a full sleeve of soaps and/or creams, putting counter top at night, makes it a great way to mix it up. It also makes it very easy to wipe down my splashes.

I was talking about yours. I didnt realize they were coffee cup material. Im seen cups that look like that that are some sort of plastic. The finsih on the ones i was talking about are not glass slick.
