A MESSAGE FROM THE NORTH OF ENGLAND
I'm astonished that shavers from all over the World are so enamoured with Mitchells Wool Fat Soap, from Bradford, Yorkshire. I have yet to find it, or their ordinary washing soap in any shop -- it seems only to be available by mail order, no matter where you live, even Bradford!
I wonder if any of you know of DROYT'S SHAVING SOAP? It is a glycerin soap preparation, made in Chorley, Lancashire, England (which is a few miles north west of Manchester). It produces a great lather very easily, soaking and softening the beard rapidly. It's the only true glycerin shaving soap I have so far found, and although I try creams as well - Proraso usually (is Omega the same stuff?), I'm never without Droyt's (Droyt Soap Company). Follow the site through Gents Products.
Continued Happy Shaving everyone

Thanked: 1195Very interesting indeed, Blackpool. We North Americans probably just assume that MWF is common in England - and cheaper than here too! For us Canadians it is comparable to Pinaud Clubman, which is readily available (and cheap) everywhere in the States, but is a rarity here.
You do have me curious about Droyt's though. Is it possible to find on this side of the pond, or will it be international mail?

Thanked: 55I am wondering how is Droyts any different from the other melt and pour offerings that are on the market? I can't tell the difference.
There's a plethora of artisan melt and pour soaps that are of excellent quality with a wide variety of fragrances to boot offered by vendors right here on this site for those that are so inclined to use such a product. You might want to check them out to see if there's something to your liking in a different scent variety. The artisans are very accommodating people and would probably have little to no issues shipping to the UK.
Hope that helps.
Best Regards,
EL
