Default Col. Conk - is it worth while?

I've just started working at a knife shop in town (House of Knives) and we sell Col. Conk shaving bars. I've only ever used Truefit and Hill and Crabtree & Evylin.
Is the Col. worth it? or is it the type where they put that addictive chemical that make you crave it fortnightly?

i like they way they smell.. but to be honest.. that's about as far as they go.. they aren't the best for lather or facial conditioning..

not to say they don't lather.. they do.. but nothing worth writing home about.. but for $3.. you won't be losing much.

    Ok, thanks!
I had heard from a colleague that they leave the face a bit dry feeling as well. Figured I'd ask a broader base.

    Hey Samuel,

Maybe I'll see you the next time I swing by Sevenoaks.

    Cool

I have some, but really haven't gotten around to using it. But they must have some followers as they do sell to someone. Perhaps they just want the cool apothecary mug!!

Col Conk is a good soap. It lathers well and doesn't dry on the face if lathered right, which isn't hard to do, as it isnt a finicky soap.
You could do better than Col Conk but you could do a lot worse also

Col. Conk stuff is great. It also sits at a price point that most thinking men would find practical.

Never tried the Col. Conk, but is anyone else jealous that Samuel gets to work in a knife shop? I'd never net any pay if I did that; it would all go to knives.

Col Conk works o.k., but compared to the soaps you are using now you will be disappointed.

Col Conk was my first "good soap" after using VDH for a while

I like Col Conk Bay Rum a whole lot better than any of the Soaptopia stuff that doesn't lather very well and will dry on your face very fast.
