Thanked: 0website suggestions with a variety of shaving soaps
I've been searching for sites that have a wide or fairly wide selection of shaving soaps. Just seeing if anyone has suggestions. Also, if there are any brand recommendation that would be helpful too. Nothing too nice though. I don't really want to be spending over $30 (actually more like $20) for a puck. Just started traditional shaving a few weeks ago. I have Col. Ichabod Conk soap right now but would like to try some others.
Thanks,
Nathan

Cheap and effective soaps = Cella, Palmolive shave stick, DR Harris shave stick.
For vendors, Bullgooseshaving.com vintagebladesllc.com, shoeboxshaving.com, thesuperiorshave.com and the others mentioned in the previous reply. there is no shortage of fantastic vendors in our small little shaving world.

Thanked: 199I like soaps from Mama Bears Soaps and Gift Shop , Mama Bears Shaving Soaps and Bath Products for the Discerning Gentleman and Lady
They have a lot of scents, and they work great. The price is right too.

West Coast Shaving and Bull Goose Shaving seem to ship the fastest, but many online vendors carry the same products.
As far as soaps go, most fall under $20....even the quality ones. If you can avoid purchasing the soaps with the fancy bowls and just buy the replacement pucks, you could get Mitchell's Wool Fat, Pre De Provence, Provence Sante, Institut Karite and more!

There's a lot of great stuff out there, but I get great results from a plain bar of clear glycerin face soap. The stuff makes a great lather and even the 'organic' stuff costs less than $5.
I'm saving my money for blades, brushes & such.

Nathan,
+1 on the tallow based Palmolive shave stick; the bang for the buck is amazing !
For me, Cella is my favourite and best performing 'soap' - absolutely stunning performance (for me!)
Tabac soap is also a favourite of mine.
LIke all things shaving, you really have to try the product yourself.
What is great for one person may not be great for another !
Good luck !
Have fun !
Best regards
Russ

If your ok with creams, Try Al's Bombs at AlsShaving.com
Great price, large selection. He does custom scents for nominal charge. Lathers huge, and skin feels great when done.
Also has matching after shave balms reasonably priced too.
