Default I like soap, been making some.

Im a cheap bastard when it comes to things. Im fine with the cheap soaps from wal mart. Im the kind of guy that likes to make cheap things as good or better as expensive things. Ive got 4 soaps ive re batched over the last few weeks. I like to mix things up so i use them all. The orange is a mango that smells so good i want to eat it. The Light blue is a basic soap with some scents I was playing with. The greenish one is a soft soap that smells like a spring mist. Everyone loves the way it smells. I prefer the mango. Its got soap, crew shaving cream, and glycerin in it. Its like unberlather in a bowl lol. The whiteish one is a tea tree soap. While the smell is very tea tree it sucks for shaving. Ill have to change the receipt for that one.

That is sweet. I would love to make my soap, I have a few goodies I want to try in a soap. Any tips on where to get started? I have made soap in the past but not with the goal to lather.

has anyone found a good basic recipe to start out with? maybe something that would lend itself well to experimentation. i too have made my own soap before but it was a bar soap that didn't seem to lather very well. it was a nice soap but was too thin. definitely wouldn't have worked for shaving with.

If you look on some of the sites that sell the raw materials to soap-makers and people who makes colognes and such they usually have some recipes.
